Creating Opportunity Through Access
Dancefix Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, Heather Britt, has made it her personal mission over the past 25 years to create safe and welcoming spaces for people to move and express themselves with a focus on access for all.
Recognized and awarded for her work in the community, Dancefix Foundation is the outgrowth of that community commitment that will allow for a much greater impact through increased focus, time, energy, and funding.
Heather knows first-hand the benefits of dance for physical and mental health; how mastery of a skill builds self-confidence and self-worth; how moving with others breaks down barriers and builds stronger communities; and how access to the arts can teach leadership skills, and lead to a fulfilling career. As a recent cancer survivor, she also understands all of the ways that dance can heal.
Heather attended Cincinnati’s School for The Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio, an experience which she credits her achievements as a nationally-recognized choreographer, Owner and Founder of DANCEFIX by HBDC, professional dancer and community builder. Noting that educational budget cuts adversely affect arts curriculum in schools, access to arts education in many communities is in dire need. The Dancefix Foundation team is working for the community to fill those needs through our partnerships with local schools, community organizations, arts organizations, hospitals, and more.
